First Impressions
This is such a pretty colour and the shading and sheening are subtle but mesmerising. Rumour (apparently confirmed by Lamy, but I couldn’t find it anywhere official) is that this colour was recently rebranded as Lamy Pacific Blue Special Edition.
Bottle
This ink comes in the standard Lamy bottle. It is a wide, flat cylinder, with the ink in the top half and a plastic holder containing blotting paper in the bottom half. I’ve yet to actually use any of the blotting paper included with the Lamy ink bottles but it’s a nice idea. The bottle itself is thick glass and pleasantly heavy, giving the impression that tipping it over and spilling ink is a near impossibility. The cap is plastic and somewhat resembles the ink colour, though in my opinion is greener than the actual ink.
Feel
This is a nice, wet ink. It flows very smoothly and tends to behave itself even on sub-optimal paper.
Dry time
5 seconds
Colour
The Lamy turquoise is a very pure, bright turquoise, or perhaps azure, colour. It might be a bit too fun and bright of a colour for very official work, but it’s nicely readable and I have no problem using it for taking notes or writing in my lab book.
Chromatography
I was pleased to see that this turquoise really separates into some royal blue and some sky blue but no green. I can’t stand greens sneaking into blue inks!
Shading, saturation & sheening
Lamy Turquoise does have some shading – rather equivalent to the Lamy blue-black. This is quite evident when looking at fine lines, rather than the cotton-swab swipes. This ink also has a reddish-purple sheen which I’ve not been able to accurately capture in the photos, unfortunately. But even when using a fine pen, some sheening is present around the ends of lines where the ink has slightly pooled.
Durability

Hydrogen peroxide: Not resistant: the lines completely disappear.

Bleach: Not resistant. The colour completely disappears.
Erasability
This ink cannot be erased.
Smell
No noticeable smell.
Final Thoughts
I love this ink! It would be perfectly at home in a demonstrator pen because of its spectacular colour. Using it makes me smile. And it’s so easy to work with – dries quickly, doesn’t smudge, and flows nicely.
